Not taking a position at the end of a line or queue, but forcing herself into the midst of the line. _________________ Native English teacher at Mister Micawber's |

Mr. Micawber,
What do you think of the way "in" is used twice in that sentence? I myself, would say, "Candace has a bad habit of butting in line in front of others." |

All you really need to say is "Candace has a bad habit of butting in line." Since the idea of in front of others is already there, adding it is actually redundant.
By the way, I've heard that the Brits don't butt in line but rather jump the queue. I can imagine that adding in front of others would be pretty redundant in that expression as well.
