It was three years back story. I was visiting lecturer for Landscape department in JGVRTI. JGVRTI have two class or division for all courses, one is in morning and other one is in evening. Since I have private practice, I used to teach in the evening. Generally evening class always has the students from rich families.
Sunny was one of those rich students, very careless boy. He used ware very flashy cloths and sun glass in the evening. I still remember his introduction to class. When his turn came he shrugged his shoulders and just told his name in a style like “you know me guys”. From that movement he listed himself in my not so favorite student list. As Sunny was not sincere and studious, his assignments were shabby and way bellow average. Result of all this was low grads and I was listed in not so favorite teacher.
He started troubling me by asking absolute dumb questions. Coming late in class and disturbing other student. Day by day he was becoming big beset for the class. His father is one of them who are giving really big donation for many years, so I had to work with Sunny in any situation.
I started observing his and found more things about Sunny that he is good observer, leader and have very sharp memory. I found out that he is really nice guy, but spoiled by money. I was shocked when I came to know that he bought a pair of reading glasses for our office boy who is of Sunny’s age and have to work to feed his family instead of going to college. I immediately told whole class about his generosity and how he saved one family from starving.
From that day things became little easy for me. I started paying more attention to him. Yes my grading didn’t change but his assignments started getting better and better. Sunny realized very soon that he is my favorite student because of his talent and not because of his father’s money. He started respecting me as a teacher. To show his leadership capability, I assigned him few task in our annual presentation. Everyone besides me was not sure about this, but kept it as it is. Sunny did really good job. His work and presentation was appreciated by many professionals in our town and became best student of year.
Two years letter, one day when I was in book shop, a tall and handsome guy waved at me. At a moment I didn’t recognized him. Oh my god! He was Sunny, well groomed and with very pretty girl, his wife. It reflects from his face that he was so happy to see me. He introduced that me to his wife as guiding light. I became very uncomfortable. I told him not to say such thing because it is my roll and duty to guide my entire student. But he didn’t stop talking about me. He told everything to her from Introduction to class to best student award. He told me about his company which is one of big companies in Landscaping. At the end he said that he could have earn degree from any college but he earn confidence to run such a big business because of encouragement he received in college. After few cups of coffee we which each other good luck and took our ways to home
I am very glad that God gave me opportunity to guide many students like Sunny. Know I am working as planner in USA. But I would like an opportunity one more time to shear my little experience and knowledge with other.

Guys, what you think about story ?
I feel there is lot "I" in this story. It does not mean I very proud of what I did, but do not know other way of composition. I guess I need really pay attention to Kitosdad's story, always very polite and full of different vocabulary.

Icy,

I found the story very interesting. In my country there is an ols saying: " A man is met according his/her garments, and is saw of according his/her brain/mind/intelligence".

My best friends years later say that they found me very self-satisfied and unfriendly from the first sight. Some of them told me I walk as the World is mine Smile Appearances are often deceptive Smile

What matters is what we feel or what we are, words follow Smile

I liked this real story and you deserve to be proud of what you do or did.
