Can you please check this writing for me. I feel that I'm not doing very well at it. I have 20 Mints but i took longer than that to write it. Is it because is too long? Do I have to cover all the examples made by the author and speaker?
Thanks in advance.

In this set of material the reading passage provides information about the increase of global warming during these past years. The listening passage strengthens the information on the reading passage by presenting examples on recent report on the same subject.

The author explains that one of the main reasons why the temperature is rising is because of activities done by humanity. By burning fossil fuels like coal, and oil, as well as the cutting down of forest has increase immensely the greenhouse gases in the atmosphere of Earth. Scientific also discovered that the increase of carbon dioxide, and the rising temperatures were a consequence of activity in industrial factories, and the gasoline used by motor vehicles. These changes can be seen in the weather for example in snow, ice and the sea level. The reading passage point out that these may increase the floods, and drought all around the world. Furthermore, these changes can also effect the weather conditions. For instance the increase in hurricanes. Also the extinction of many animals, and plants in addition, to problems in the economy.

The Listening passage provides some more information about global warming as well as examples. The speaker explains that after years of warnings it has been finally accepted that the temperatures are rising, and that they have serious consequences. For example, in the north-east of the U.S where used to be known for its cold, and snowy winters has had a noticeable changed, because the snowfall has dropped considerably. These is a direct hit to the economy. In the Ski industry, when there is less snow the business decreases, as a consequence not many ski centers will be open. Also the ski businesses have to increase the expenses to produce artificial snow, these means more money. This impact that it has in the economy goes far beyond the ski centers, many other places get a direct hit like shops, restaurants, and resorts. Another example presented by the speaker is that when those remote rural areas have hot summers and warm Autumn, it will be less colorful and therefore not attractive to tourists. It is expected that the number of days with snow in the ground decrease to a total of 25%-50%. These changes in weather pattern can seriously affect the economy of these regions.

Heliu Yamilet!

Can you point out that from which book you took the question.

By the way, I really get confused about this kind of question. When they give us this kind of question "Which further information that the lecture add in to the information presented in the reading passage", should we write on something about the reading passage or we just go straight in to describing the listening passage. Could any one help me on this. ?!!!!!!!! This would be highly appreciated !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

I got it from this book
Barron's book
Writing for the TOEFL IBT
it gives you examples of the integrated writing as well as the independent one.

To anwer your question
I have learned that we have to talk about both, the reading and listening passages
then we write how the information in the lecture is different from the passage / Contrast
and if the lecture just adds more info, we still have to write about both
This is what i understand from all the books i have read
good luck.

Thank you so much Yamilet. It helps a lot.

I used to think that but since I read some example of integrated speaking question in Toeft Official book, they just focused on describing the information in the lecture so I've got confused. Now it seems a little clearer. Maybe we should answer differently between speaking and writing section.

Thanks again Smile
