I'd only ever seen her picture, sitting there in a sunny garden before a flowering bush, but I had known instinctively that I could love this woman.
The certainty that I could be happy with this woman made me grieve that we had no possible chance of every meeting.
Her social status was far higher than mine, and my infantile attempts to attract her had filled me with frustration.
Just what would it take to have this desirable woman contact me?
Should I write to her, offering a meeting, and hope that I could impress her?
Where could I take her, even if she did agree?
A person of limited means, such as myself, couldn't afford the fine restaurants to which she was surely accustomed.
I couldn't imagine her being satisfied with a sandwich and a cup of coffee in some snack-bar.
In my dreams I saw the life that we could have together.
Hand in hand, the long walks by the river.
A simple picnic.
Winter nights sitting on the sofa before a blazing fire.
Certainly the days of my youth are long passed, but that doesn't mean that my heart is still not fired by the romance that dwells within.
In my heart of hearts I'm certain that she only smiles as she reads my pleas.
Why doesn't she react as I would love her to?
Why doesn't she at least give me a sign that she knows that I am referring to her and her alone?
Why can she so cold-heartedly ignore me?
Could it be that she already has someone who loves her as much as I surely would?
Does she have children, who would look at this stranger with hostile eyes?
Does she have relatives who would tell her to think rationally, and to ignore this foolish man and his words?
I don't know, but I hope that she would be strong enough to cast off her fears and doubts and contact me.
I'm waiting, please don't continue to ignore me.

Kitos.

Kitos,

I wander if the Character hasn't asked her to go out and waiting for the first step by her side :)

Can you give in details how she ignors him? ;)

If I compare the picture (of yours) with words, I would say...words speak louder ;)
