Hi everyone,
In the following lines what is the meaning of the extract 'repulsive in appearance and action and is barely human'?

"The word 'yahoo' was invented by Jonathan Swift and used in his book Gulliver's Travels. It represents a person who is repulsive in appearance and action and is barely human.. Yahoo! founders Jerry Yang and David Filo selected the name because they considered themselves yahoos."

thank you in advance

Yahoo is someone who, from man's perspective, looks disgusting, does disgusting things (rolls in the mud for example). In other words, yahoos are nothing like humans.

Repulsive means disgusting.

Hi Harsh,

There are other meanings of the word "yahoo". It may be a big ape like orangutan and it may be an exclamation used sometimes by American cowboys.
