Hi there, I think you are a little bit to tight with your deadlines. I'm not saying that he is excused, but 10 ain't much (now depends on the nature of the work). I would have had received his labor but in the same time i would have had a discussion with him. Nevertheless the first day of work is not an excuse, you can loose your job and receive a bad feedback for this situation. All the best! |

Dear Icy,
There are systems, of course they are online submitted by potential contractors, where deadline is precise and system gets closed at fixed time.
If I were you I would accept the documents in case if I didn't need to record the time of documents received. 10 minutes according to Fuzzy Logic is nothing :)
Last year we gave ads to newspapers regarding a tender. Many companies took part in Info Day and get informed and had bussiness cards where they could send tender documents. The deadline was fixed. But 2 days after the deadline we received a call from one company. IT's responsible representatives kindly asked us to accept their documents and we decided not to refuse them. Guess what! Eventually that company won the tender, because it was the best one!
Giving chance to someone we give one more chance for ourselves I think.
