Hello Cate, I would use this phrase when inviting someone to accompany me to a meal.
"Please come with me, be my guest." (Meaning I would pay for the meal and any other "extras" that we might have.)

in a movie i saw a scene like that: person A said : can i use your pensil paeson B replied: please, be my guest |

Good morning Cate. Yes, this is quite likely. One might also say in reply to this request; "By all means." "Please, help yourself." "Certainly,just take it."

Hi Kitosdad,
how if you had cooked the meal yourself and wanted to invite the other person? Would you then substitute offer for guest? :roll:
