"How long have you been studing english" Or "How long have you been studied english"

Hi Flower,

IŽd say here , too, the correctness of the sentence depends on the context.

Your first example: "How long have you been studying English?" has the idea of asking you for the time span you actively are working on your English skills. You was the actor. As for your question IŽd say this was the correct one.

Your second example "How long have you been studied english?" looks like you was asked if there was a lurker who watched you in a very special way. Your part was the passive one. Btw, I donŽt know whether there is an english way of lurking. :shock: Thus, this opportunity doesnŽt sound quite natural to me.

Hope, I gave you the right answer. If not teachers will knock on my fingers. :)
