British Men's Champ? - Capital Letters

Hello,

Recently I've been greatly interested in capital letters in writing. For example:

1) He was the last British Men's Champ in 1936.
2) He was the last British men's champ in 1936.

In these cases, "He" means Fred Perry (tennis player).

Anyway, in 1), Men's Champ particularly indicates a Wimbledon winner(men's single). Or, "He" is so special that the writer wanted to emphasize his title.

For 2), to me, it looks like he's one of many champs, no emphasizing here.
