Is there a right and wrong answer here?

a) Lately, I have thought about changing jobs.

b) Lately, I have been thinking about changing jobs.

Does the "lately" change the time reference?

I thought the verb "think" was a nonprogressive verb so technically the correct answer would be "a", but as a native speaker I would say "b". But I need to know if one of these is definitely wrong.

Thanks in advance,
Belles

Hi belles,

I tend to agree that 'have been thinking' fits better with 'lately' as it suggests this has been over a period of recent time. 'Think' of course can be used in the progressive form specially when it means 'consider'.
