It wasn't that I didn't believe in ghosts, it was that I was certain that ghosts were an impossibility.
How the heck can things appear and disappear, and why do these things usually appear after darkness has descended?
Haunted houses? Again, a load of rubbish in my opinion.
Does anyone wish to convince me otherwise?

Please give me a rational explanation to this occurrence :-

It was a very early Winters morning, and the snow had fallen quite heavily during the night.

It was the kind of morning that I always look forward to.

I love to see the trees covered in snow, especially when it hasn't had time to melt.

I dressed hurriedly and although it was only 5 a.m., I rushed out of the house with my two dogs.
They too love the snow, and as we entered the cemetery the gamboled gaily, chasing each other and rolling in the snow.

Although the snow completely covered every inch of the ground, I am well acquainted with the now concealed pathway that slices through the entire width of the cemetery.

It was still quite dark, the only light being radiated by the fallen snow.
A slight mist was ahead of us and I pulled my coat more snugly around my body.
I stopped to light a cigarette, as I had no intention of sitting on our usual bench as I normally do.

As I looked up again I was surprised to see a couple walking toward me.

They were not dressed for the cold weather as she wore a gown and he wore an old-fashioned three piece suit.
They had no coats, and they indeed looked out of place, especially when you took the weather into consideration.

They were about forty yards away and approaching me slowly.
I prepared myself to greet them with an hearty "Good morning," in my very best German when the began to dissolve before my very eyes!

The closer they came the less they appeared to exist.
My two dogs were bristling and emitting low growls, but doing nothing more.
At ten metres this couple completely disappeared, but I "felt" them as they walked past me.
I was dumbstruck.

I turned slowly, and after a few moment they started to materialise once more.
The further they walked the more solid they became.
I was at a loss as to what I had seen, so I lit another cigarette and watched as they slowly disappeared from my field of vision.

We walked on and after about ten metres I was amazed to see their solitary footprints in the snow!
I turned about and went back to my earlier position and noted the footprints becoming fainter to non-existent at the point where they had passed by me.
I continued further and again the footprints began to become more evident, my solitary prints coming down and their two pairs going up the track.

As I stood there pondering all of this another dog-walker came down the track toward me.
I bade him "Good morning," and asked if he had passed a couple on his way down the track.
Of course he hadn't.

Now I may have imagined all of this, and the dogs cannot confirm what we all saw, but someone please tell me where the footprints came from...........Please!

Kitos.
p.s. In my picture you see the point where all of this happening occurred!

Hey Kitosdad,

from what I think is there no need for a "foot step explanation". You definitely must have been dreaming. How else could you then come to claim that there was snow ? Within your location Shocked ............. really Kitos, this single time your power of imagination must have played a joke on you. Laughing

...........a fine pint of "Pilsken" and you will come to think of all of that fairly normal again........hahaha

cheers

Thanks Ski.

I'm giving the old imagination a rest for a while.

Phoebe has a lot of catching up to do when she gets back.

Bill.
