Some people argue that attending classes should be optional. Others contend that it should be mandatory. Which statement do you think is better for students? Use specific details and example to illustrate your points.
Universities are places of learning, where a group of people get together to realize their collective academic
dreams. Recently, a question about whether a University student should take class according to his or her own will
or based on the attendance requirement have been discussed universally among students. Opinions about this issue
differs from student to another. In my point of view, it is more advisable to attend classes strictly according to
the attendance requirement because of the following reasons.
To begin with, attending classes is the most efficient and fastest way to acquire expertise from your professors.
Nowaways, Universities have spent a lot of money on the quality and proficiency of their faculties, hiring many
world-famous specialists on certain subjects to impart knowledge to the students. By attending
classes, you can easily get the first hand knowledge and experiences from your professors. Moreover, classes are
the perfect places for you to have a face-to-face communication with the prestigious academics who are generally
very easygoing and ready to help you with your questions. Therefore, it can be safely concluded that attending
classes can offer you the opportunities to be imparted with valuable knowledge which is distilled from years of
research experience of your professors.
Besides, based on experience, it is understood that you can certainly get involved in a group of students who share
the same professional interest with you in the classes. With your classmates, you can have the valuable chance to
communicate, to study and to discuss on the topic of your interest. For example, if someone in your classroom
have the same interests with you, you two can form a study group to share opinions, solve problems and help each
others. In these process of dealing with people around you, you can automatically gain the ability and
skills of socialization which is the key to a successful professional life in the future. Based on the above
statements, I totally agree with the idea that attending classes is extremely beneficial to your progress towards a
successful person.
Last but not least, attending classes according to the attendance requirement is also helpful to develop a sense of
responsibility, not only for your study, but also for your own time. Let's assume that a university student always
skip some classes which he dislike very much. Later in his professional life, how can you ensure that he will
strictly and totally comply with the regulation in the company he is working in. If he keep the bad
habit of being inclined to avoid things he hates, unquestionably, he would not be able to lead a
successful and honorable life.
To sum up, taking all of the points discussed above into account and after a careful reconsideration, I can draw a
safe and sound conclusion that it is a wise choice to attend classes according to the attendance requirement for
the academic, individual and professional benefits it offers. |
