What do we call that person who teaches us in a firm? #1 (permalink) Sun Sep 13, 2009 14:08 pm   What do we call that person who teaches us in a firm?

Hi, everyone

When we go to a compnay, the boss will assign a senior employee to teach us something or teach us something about job. I'm wondering how do we call that person?

1. leader
2. instructor
3. minder
4. assistant

Could you give me some ideas? Or what do you use in this situation?

Thanks in advance.

Maggie^^

I would not use: leader, minder and assistant.

I would use: coach, instructor, supervisor

Hi Maggie

That person is quite likely to be called your 'line manager', especially if they have an ongoing responsibility for you.

In my view, the more mistakes someone else corrects for me, the more I will learn.
