What is wrong with the sentence "I was born and I live in New York." ?
Could you also link me to the grammar rule of the mistake (if there is any)?

Hi,

It's not clear from the sentence whether you were born in New York. You would have to repeat New York and say: I was born in New York and I live in New York or I was born in New York and I live there.

Hi Alan,

Would "I was born and live in New York" be correct?

I believe, "I live and was born in New York" would be appropriate as well?

Hi Shouvik,

By changing the order and putting 'live' first doesn't really solve the problem of using the same subject 'I' for two different tenses. This only works when both tenses are the same as in for example: I live and work in New York.

hi Ratt as we are from the same country if you don't mind i want to be helpful for you
i think it would be better if you say
İwas born in New York and i live there.
i think it would be more clear and meaningful sentence.
Good luck.

It makes sense! Thank you so much.
