I've heard of only one person in Bulgaria being named after something related to "water".
That would be "Воденичаров" (read "Vodenicharov"). When you remove the "ов" suffix, you get "воденичар" (read "vodenichar"), which means "miller". |

Actually, yes.
Quite popular surname in Slovenia is "Vodopivec" which means "Water-drinker" (Vodo - water, Pivec - drinker). It is ranked as 112th most common surname in Slovenia (1245 people have it).
It's interesting to see such a unnusual surname appears in so many langauges! |
