Any experience in registering an LLC?

Hi, has anyone of you any experience in registering an LCC? I'm have German citizenship and intend to register an LCC in the US while my permanent place of residence will be Germany. I've already completed the online questionnaire on LegalZoom which seems to offering the best service in this field.

I'm also planning to add at a least one officer who has US citizenship and lives in the US. At this point, the biggest hurdle in the registration process is the fact that I don't have a social security number. As far as I know this is one of the requirements for registering an LLC. Any ideas as to how this can be solved?

At any rate, I'm impressed at how transparent and efficient registration process is in the US. In Germany it's much more difficult to even get to the stage I've already reached within 15 minutes by filling out the online questionnaire at LegalZoom.

Absolutely amazing! This is one of the reasons why the US will stay the top country when it comes to doing business and realizing new ideas.
