I would like to know why CNN does not mark the possessive form in sentences written at the bottom of the screen like the followings
- Pilote strike cancel flights in India
-Bolt to skip Korean event
-Oil,gaz contracts on Chavez agenda on Russia

Either you have typed them very poorly or CNN is suddenly staffed with non-native English writers.

They are a form of headline, and headline English eliminates a lot of extra stuff that is normally required. Nevertheless, only 'Chavez' really cries for the possessive 's.
