Hi all,

One time I heard the question "Do you have the time?" in the conversation between 2 people. I guessed it is same as "What time is it?", Am I correct?

Thanks...

Hi,

This could be misunderstood. The usual question would be: Can you tell me the time, please? You could also say: Do you have the time? but unless it is clear that you are talking about what time it is, there is the possibility of it meaning: Do you have enough time to do something? If someone offers to take you somewhere in a car and you know that they are very busy, you could say: Do you have the time? asking whether they can manage to take you in the car and do the other things they have to do.

Very clear! Thank you very much, Alan! My guess was based on the answer at that time! He told his friend the time! Interesting! :-)

BTW, the recording is absolutely same as your written. Did you have to both separately or is there any software that would automatically generate the text?

Hi,

What I do is write the answer and then press the record button to read out what I have written.

It's a nice habit that I should try it out so that I would improve my speaking skill at the same time! Hope someone would not get angry because of my ugly voice! :-)

Again, Thank you very much, Alan!
