Education (s)hould be pursued with interest and according to ones aptitude. I agree with the statement, high school should allow the student to choose their inter(e)sted course. There are several reasons for (this).
(T)he first important reason is, once time goes, it never comes back. High school time is very crucial in a student's life. If he/she (m)akes (a) wrong descision in this period then, it will affect his/her whole life. If a high school wants to guide the student by (pointing out) the advantages and disadvantages of a particular course, then it's alright, but they (cannot) force the students to take a particular course.
Another reason is, students are more comfortable in the field of their interest. For example, if a student is interested in (a) course (in) biochemistry, and if he/she is forced to opt for horticulture, then (the) student (cannot) do (as) well in horticulture as compare(d) to his/her performance in biochemistery. This is because, in biochemistery, (the) student has his own interest, so he will do the work related to biochemistery very efficiently and with great enthusiasum. Great scientists, doctors, engineers, agriculturists etc. (gained) success because they (chose) the course as per their own interest.
(The) next reason is that the students come from different family backgrounds. Most of them are comfortable in studying the subjects related to their backgrounds. For example, (the) son of an engineer would like to be an engineer, (the) daughter of a doctor would also want to become a doctor, etc. Similarly a student has to keep the financial aspect also in mind while planning for (their)career. For example,a poor mans child would prefer a vocation-oriented course so that he/she can start earning immediately after completion of (their) studies.
Another reason is that, if a student (fails) in the course selected by him/her, then he/she (cannot) blame the high school or any other person, because (nobody) forced him/her to select that particular course.
Thus, permitting students to study the course they want to study holds merit in all aspects.
This is a great improvement Sm. Well done.
