"Never stray too far from the burrow, and watch for that thing that flies through the air."
How many more times was his mother going to say that to them?

Little Bunny, the rabbit, was really bored of listening to his mother's constant mantra.
He had places to go, and new things to discover.
He was fed-up with having to stay here, ever-dependant on his parents to fetch him food.
He'd been in this burrow for weeks, and he'd decided that it was high-time he braved the world outside on his own.
He was brave.
He wasn't afraid.
He always won when he fought with his siblings in the burrow.

Yes, today he would strike out on his own.
He could easily find his way back to the burrow before the darkness fell, of that he was sure.

He waited until both of his parents left the burrow and cautiously crept to the opening. No sign of his parents. Good, he was off!

He wandered through the leafy glade, sampling anything that appealed to him.
Hey, this was great. Far better than being stuck in that smelly burrow.
The air was warm and clean and a slight breeze set his nose twitching.
There were so many new smells on the air out here.
What a pleasant change to smelling his brothers' and sisters' coats all day!

He was so happy.

He continued further along the track although he knew he really shouldn't.
He kept remembering his mother's words, but he was determined to prove her wrong. There really was no great danger out here. It was lovely!

He nibbled on the sweet smelling grass and ate a couple of flowers that tasted delicious.
How nice to be able to choose your own food for a change, he thought.
Then he heard the sound of approaching footsteps.
He stood stock-still until they passed.
No problemo, he thought to himself.

He carried on along his way.
The day was beautiful and the sun was shining down on him, but suddenly the air seemed to swirl around him, and a darkness enveloped him.

The strong talons of the hawk broke his neck so very easily, and his now lifeless body was hoisted aloft into the sunny heavens.

Hi Bill,

Thanks for asking. I don't feel very well here, and I am really looking forward to the time of my leaving (in 3.5 years...). Hopefully things will change until then and I will change my mind.

And how are you doing in Essen? Do you eat a lot there? ^^

By the way, I've been curious to find out what it was that you were doing before you retired. Could you share?

Best regards,

Ski

You always bring new words Kitos. Sometimes I think that I know considerable words about English,

but when I read something which comes from you I see that I'm wrong.

Bellow, There are words that I need you to explain the real meaning, in this context.

burrow
Bunny
high-time
leafy

That's all.

See you my friend!

Good afternoon Ski. Well, I am not a big eater, mainly fruit or fish. Very rarely do I eat meat or pizza.

Prior to retiring I fitted kitchens and bathrooms for our customers.
My wife and I were the owners of a Kitchen and Bathroom showroom, although I have had quite a few different jobs in my time. Happy days.
