1.it was mentioned in the e-mail that, (beside two - "beside" means "next to" in a physical sense, better use "besides" here) cars in Beverly Hills, a mansion in the country and several undeveloped plots of land were owned by the cult leader.
2.it is believed that the entire crew of the plane that impacted with another plane (are dead - First, some might say that "crew" is used as a singular entity here and should go with "is", although I personally do not fully agree with this distinction. Secondly, like Kitosad says, "have died" is better than "are dead" here, because the actual dying is also part of the information that should be conveyed, besides the fact that they are dead right now; "have died" is more natural) and a press release to this effect will be forwarded to their families.
3.because of incredible pressure by his farther, even as a child, John Stuart Mills was far faster than (everyone - anyone is better but I can't say why; probably because "faster than they" implies that "they" are not fast: "anyone" is used with negative sentences, that's why I'd use it here, too) at school at reading
4.Encephalitis, an (inflammatory - this is an adjective but you need a (substantive) noun here, the one Kitosad gave) of the brain, is also being studied by the medical staff of St Augustine and rumors of them achieving a cure have been reported in the news. |
