I have studied English about ten years or more but I can't speak English fluently. In our country, we just study grammar and reading the passage all the time, that why my listening and speaking so bad. Sometimes I fell frustrated and I have no motivation to study English. Other time I fell standstill, I don't know how to learn English well, I mean speaking and listening well. Can you help me? Can you show me any method to study English well.? Thanks so much.

Hi Tuanca,

This is Tom Kane writing from the United States. I listened to your recorded message and I think you're doing a great job speaking English. I also think that you are being too hard on yourself!

The English-test.net forum is a great place to learn English. It's also a great place to speak with others who are willing to help you. The best advice I can give you is to keep doing what you're doing. Write out your thoughts, just like you did here in the forum and then speak what you wrote.

Even if you don't have time to post something on the forum, write down what you want to say and then practice speaking it.

Keep up the good work and I look forward to hearing from you.

Take care,

Tom

Hi, Tom!
Thanks a lot with your reply and your advice too. Your advice is very useful for me. I'm sure that you're right, everybody here is so nice. They are willing to help me, just like you. But I have a question and I need you be honest. If you don't look at what I write, can you understand what I say.
I hope look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely
Tuanca

Hey Tuanca,

YES! I can understand what you are saying - without looking at the written words. I listened to your message as I read it. Then, I replayed your message and understood everything.

To be honest, I had to listen very closely, but I was able to understand every word. Here's the thing - you write so well, and you have such a good understanding of English, it will not take you very long to speak as well as you write.

Many students are just beginning to understand the written text. You on the other hand, have a great understanding of the written word. Now it's important for you to speak, and speak, and speak English as much as possible.

Again, even if you don't feel like posting every message on the forum, just continue to speak English as much as you can. It's like anything else, you WILL improve!

Keep up the good work, Tuanca!

Tom
