Value of the toeic®?

Hello, can you tell me what the value of the TOEIC is? Why should I take the TOEIC instead of another exam? What certificate is better, a Cambridge certificate, an LCCI certificate, IELTS or TOEIC? I have never heard of TOEIC before so maybe somebody can explain what it is all about?

Whether or not you should take the toeic depends on your personal preferences, which country you live, etc.
In general, toeic has a business topic, more exacty vocabulary used in business environment. No specific words related to a certain profession are used, however. It measures only receptives skills directly. toeic is extensively used in Japan and Korea, and it has an increasing popularity in Europe as well. In Europe it's generally considered as "business TOEFL".
