Virulent and innocuous are opposites, so we need an answer choice that is also a pair of opposites. B and C work for that.
Why is B better than C? In the original pair, Virulent is something bad, and innocuous is something good, just as reprehensible is bad and priaseworthy is good. But strong and delicate are neutral words, so even though they are opposites, they are not the right kind of opposites. B is the closest pair. |
