Comprehension questions: What makes tea drinking a 'time-honored tradition'? #1 (permalink) Mon Sep 28, 2009 14:16 pm   Comprehension questions: What makes tea drinking a 'time-honored tradition'?

I am taking the final-year exams in a short period of time and i am really in need of improving my comprehension skills! So i hope that everyone would help me wipe my problems out! thanks in advance!

Here is the comprehension question, please help me answer it and how you come up with your answers!

"The art of drinking tea by the teh tarik way in itself is a time-honored tradition which pays homage to a simpler and yet richer way of life. Gazing at the spectacle before oneself seemed to be a pastime for the tea drinkers as they sat in apparent calm to contemplate the activities taking place along the street, or simply to engage in one's thoughts."

Q: Explain in your own words what makes tea drinking a 'time-honored tradition'.

Comprehension questions: What makes tea drinking a 'time-honored tradition'? #2 (permalink) Tue Sep 29, 2009 12:07 pm   Comprehension questions: What makes tea drinking a 'time-honored tradition'?

It's best if you first explain in your own words what makes tea drinking a time-honored tradition. I suggest you start by looking up the word 'time-honored' to come with other adjectives that have a similar meaning. At any rate, you should take some action first before you ask others to do your homework.

What do you think?
Thanks,
Torsten
