There's something standing in my room,
I know it's hiding in the gloom.
The room so dark, the corners deep,
And I don't dare to fall asleep.
I hear it's breathing, soft and low,
Is it my imagination, I don't know.
I'm really scared, I want to scream,
But maybe it is all a dream.
I can't be sure, I can't be certain,
Has it moved behind the curtain ?
The moon comes shining through the night,
My room is bathed in welcome light.
The shadows gone, I've calmed my fright,
That is, until tomorrow night.
