IELTS Writing Skills - 2

Hi

I am going to give the IELTS examination in 8-10 weeks time. I have decided to do self study for the exam. I am hoping if someone can provide any feedback on my writing skills and give me some advise to improve my writing skills and also some advise to avoid any grammatical errors.

I will be submitting few letters every week and I hope everyone will be OK with this

Dear Amit,

I apologise for writing so late. I have been busy for the last few days. As you know we went to Melbourne last year for a holiday. We travelled to Melbourne

by bus. We decided to go by flight earlier but we went by bus. It was much cheaper. Even though it was not expensive, but it took almost
8 hours to reach Melbourne. We did not know it was such a long way. If we knew we could have gone by flight.

We stayed at my friend's brother's place. His brother, who lives in Melbourne, came to a bus station to pick all of us. We statyed for two nights at his place, and then we took a tour from Melbourne to Adelaide. It was such a nice weather when we reached there but It was quite cold at night. The tour was for three days and we visited many good places. We spent a day at Great ocean road. It was quite scenic. It was the most scenic place I have ever visited.

We were provided a 4.5 star accommodation by tour company and meals were also included. It was such a nice experience to stay with a group of people. I will definitely recommend this tour to you. You should go there this season as prices can go up any time soon.
