Hi Binbin

Some thing like this? :)

I want[ed] to b[u]y a new tool and and asked [the] vendor for [a] price; then [he] gave me [the] price (just [an approximate price], [with] no details, and not [a] fix[ed] [price]). [I had] want[ed] to ask my manager to buy it, my sentence is below:

"I decided that the cost of replacing the tool was too high after I checked the price."

please correct my sentence..
