Hi teachers,

I am not sure how these two sentences differ from each other:

(1): It is important for you to press the right button.
(2): It is important to press the right button.

Could you help please, teachers?

Thank you.

kitty

Both are fine, Kitty. As should be obvious, the first emphasizes the listener, but 'for you' is superfluous unless the listener is not among those who may push the button.
