Hi,

Most verbs add an 's' in the third person singular of the present simple as in: He drinks, she works and so on. The verb 'do' isn't a regular verb and in the third person singular it becomes 'does'.

In your sentences the use of the verb is as follows: Do the children receive ...? (plural) Does the child receive ...? (singular.

Do is used with plural nouns and with first personal pronoun I, does is used with singular nouns.
