Can you please give your constructive critisim on the following paragraph.

"The awards were credited by ISPM to five distinguished firsm and three excellent students for their extraordinary achievements in interior design. Mars aims at becoming the hub in the region for creating and providing quality interior designs. It is believed that recognition of excellent performance serves as an avenue to accelerate the ongoing activities carried out by the local interior designers. However, it is undeniable that the possibility of being impartial in determining the winners is very minimal due to overwhelming influence that some highly profiled individuals have on the award committee."

Thank You in advance.
Cheers

.
It is rather verbose, but the grammar is OK. Firms is obviously misspelled. I would prefer high-profile. I am not sure that awards can be credited; how about presented? How about outstanding instead of excellent students?
