I'd appreciate it if someone would answer my question. Thanks in advance.

What's the difference between A and B? (present tense VS present progressive)

A: I look forward to getting a letter from her.

B: I'm looking forward to getting a letter from her.

I do not think there is a difference in meaning. Both sentences mean the same.

---Hi, Milanya. I'd like to know why, depending on the context, present tense and present progressive have the same meaning.

Let me explain.
Maybe we should take into account the fact that "look forward to getting" is a static verb phrase. So, let's take an example using a static verb "live": Mr. Brown is living in New York. --- C

C expresses a temporary situation (maybe Mr. Brown plans to move from New York soon).
So the sentence, Mr. Brown is living in New York, is different in meaning from the sentence, Mr. Brown lives in New York.
So with the sentence: She is wearing a red coat today.

Sentence B (I'm looking forward to getting a letter from her.) clearly expresses a temporary situation. Maybe the speaker will soon get a letter. And sentence A is, I think, also a temporary situation. Here, too, the speaker will soon get a letter.
So A and B each expresses the same situation. So both are the same.
Is my explanation right?

--Hi, Infinity. Thank you for your reply. I read the thread you recommended me to read. I agree with Yankee's opinion that I'm looking forward to ---- has a friendly feeling.
I think this friendly feeling comes from the nature Progressive Form has.
So the atmosphere of A and that of B is different, but as for me it's the meaning and the grammatical explanation for it that matters. Could you consider my idea I showed to Milanya if you like.
