This sentence is colloquial anyway; both are okay, though the first one sounds a bit better.

Strictly speaking, the reason why you went out to get a pizza is the fact that I was hungry at the moment you went out: that is why the past tense is best. But since I am still hungry, the present tense is also fine; the rules are not so strict in informal speech.
