Are they supposed to be questions? You have followed them with question marks.

If he doesn't bring any messages for me? or If he doesn't bring me any messages? #7 (permalink) Wed Oct 14, 2009 15:18 pm   If he doesn't bring any messages for me? or If he doesn't bring me any messages?

In fact, the whole sentence is a little strange. I suggest:

What's the point in having a computer if I don't get any messages/emails?

If he doesn't bring any messages for me? or If he doesn't bring me any messages? #8 (permalink) Wed Oct 14, 2009 15:39 pm   If he doesn't bring any messages for me? or If he doesn't bring me any messages?

I agree with MM. The whole sentence is odd.

Do you only want to know whether the wording in the phrase "bring any messages for me" or "bring me any messages" is correct? Both are possible and both are correct. However, they don't necessarily mean the same thing.

Since I don't really get the point of the sentence as you wrote it, and without any additional context, it's not possible to say whether one of those phrases might be better than the other. Neither one sounds good in your sentence, but that does not mean that they couldn't be appropriately used in other sentences.

Mister Micawber's suggestion is a good one, and in that case you wouldn't need to use either of those two phrases. Wink
