Hi, I am Sel from Turkey... #1 (permalink) Thu Oct 15, 2009 13:32 pm   Hi, I am Sel from Turkey...

Hello everyboy my name is sel. I'm from turkey. I am an undergraduate student in Kocaeli University. I am in my 4th year and studying Chemical Engineering. I conducted an abroad laboratory internship at University of Pennsylvania for 2-3 months in this summer. I learnt practical things in labs besides theoretical information that I already learned. I am in Turkey now. I also want to do my phD in US. Therefore, i have to take toefl exam.
Nice to meet you everybody:)

Welcome, Sel, nice to meet you.
USA is the country that I have been for a long time dreamed of studying in.
You are really a lucky girl.

Hi, I am Sel from Turkey... #4 (permalink) Thu Oct 15, 2009 15:04 pm   Hi, I am Sel from Turkey...

Will you need a qualified GRE score to enter PG programs in USA, Sel?
Cause without it, the opportunity to get offer with whole fellowship included from USA universities is very rare.
In the other hand, it's much more difficult to take GRE than Toefl. I am kinda afraid of that much amount of GRE vocabulary, let alone its obscurity.
By the way, your application time is nearby, isn't it?

yes, application time is december. So it is so close. I also have to take GRE. But The university which i want to go for my PhD or master, wants to 100 scores from Toefl. Therefore, ıt is quite difficult to take this score. Because of this i have to study hard. I think you can pass GRE exam i mean vocabulary part if you study toefl or pass toefl. In my opinion toefl is more difficult:)

Seems we get different ideas about the difficulty about GRE and Toefl:-)
My peers around including me, we all think GRE's much more horrible.
How many chances do u get to take GRE in one year, in your country?
There are only two in my country, October and June. If your situation is the same as mine, which means you are going to take GRE in two weeks, I will wish u luck.
