Which is correct form to write in formal English?

They are judged largely by their appearance.
OR
They are largely judged by their appearance.

Please explain me why?

Most people would say that both are correct, and in fact, grammatically, they are. However, the first is the more precise usage. This is such a tiny point of usage that it's hardly worth your time to understand exactly what I mean. No one except an adverb geek would question you on either usage.

But, if you want to catch my meaning totally...well, post a reply here and ask for it, and I'll say more! :)
