Are user allowed to respond on questions? #1 (permalink) Fri Oct 16, 2009 12:25 pm   Are user allowed to respond on questions?

Dear site licencees and admins,

as I saw arguements comming up every once in a while when some user felt offended by getting reminded of their lack in skills of the language or of their state here and as I noted another beginning wordfull battle within a certain topic quite recently I dare to ask the above question. Itīs not the first time that it came across me but in the sake of freedom I never asked.

I mean, me, too, often enough canīt stand the attempt to respond on some asked concerns since firstly I feel good enough and had occupied myself with the mentioned issue. Iīm sure Iīm far from perfect but nonetheless canīt help myself staying away from answering. Secondly, answering or better responding I always have the hope in mind that if a user (learner) is mistaken you see that and correct them, donīt you? Finally you also would help those delinquents improving their own skills.

Do you have eye on wrong reponses of learners who try to help other learners out?

Thanks for listening to me.

Michael

Hi Michael,

We try to keep our eyes open to see that 'wrong' information isn't handed out but of course we can't be everywhere all the time. If you spot a bit of false information, don't hesitate to speak up.

Best wishes,

Alan

Hi Alan,

I seem to have expressed my thoughts the wrong way. I think you know me and also know that Iīm not shy to cry out my pains spotting some wrong information. but what I wanted to know is how much of discussion between learners do (can/are you willing to) you accept.

Is the answer to this question a task to the experience for every single user?

Hi Michael,

Our forum is pretty much like Wikipedia -- a living organism that grows and evolves. It's a place where 'amateurs' and 'professionals/experts' coexist and work together.

So to answer your question, yes, users are allowed and even encouraged to answer other users' questions.

thanks for responding , Torsten.

Hope you donīt mind but once I had the feeling that responding on questions particularly within fora like the grammar, vocabulary and idioms one mainly admins were wanted to answer. I like that discussions are allowed there and rely on the team which up and then will have an eye on mistakes made there.

Thanks to all from my lunch break.

Michael

Thanks a lot. In my own personal opinio the onliy reason that we speak English or any other language is working at it, it does not jus come naturally.
Whenever I see my classmates making mistakes is how we learns things.

People learns things from making errors on grammars& pronouncing words incorrectly.
Then we charp our grammars by trying again and again. Or pronouncing again and again.
