Hello,

Could you please explain how to use the Present Perfect tense with “just”, “this afternoon” and “today” in the two main clauses? I am wondering whether the native speakers use them. Thank you.
1. I have just completed a few English tests online this afternoon because there was a power failure yesterday.
2. I have just completed a few English tests online today because there was a power failure yesterday.

Best wishes,

You can use it just as you have in your example sentences. If some action has occurred earlier in the same morning, afternoon, evening, or day, then it is recent and very often draws the present perfect.
