The little Robin was so lost and afraid.

He was unsure which was his greatest fear, being utterly lost, or the scolding he would surely get from his parents should he ever be able to find his way back to the nest in the old tin at the base of the holly bush.

It wasn't fair! He only wanted to fly like all of his brothers and sisters, and now, here he was, lost in this long, tall, wet grass, with no idea at all as to whether he would ever be safe and warm again.

His tiny wings were sodden from contact with the wet grass, so he knew it would be pointless to attempt flying again. Indeed, he hadn't been able to fly a foot even when his wings were dry, so now it was completely hopeless.

Suddenly his worst fears were realised. He heard the heavy panting and sniffing of a huge beast.
It was one of those things his parents had warned him about when he was chirping in the nest.

"Keep quiet," his mother would say. "There's a big beast coming."
Now he was really scared.
The sniffing grew louder and a shadow fell across the grass where he lay trembling.

Suddenly the voice of a human rang out, calm and clear. "Vio,stay!"
The shadow halted and he heard the sound of approaching footsteps in the grass.

"Hello little fellow, what are you doing so far from home?" said the voice.
At the same time he was lifted from the wet grass by a warm giant hand.
The "giant" smoothed his tiny wet wings with tissues and placed him in a deep, warm dark place.

He felt movement, but thought it best that he lay perfectly still and quiet, just like his parents had taught him to.

After a short while the "giant" hand once again came into his resting place and lifted him out into the daylight.

Hello, he recognised this place.
It was the holly bush where he lived.

The "giant" bent and placed him ever so gently deep inside his home, and quietly left him alone.

The little robin was elated.
He was home, safe and sound. His parents wouldn't even know he had left the nest, but he wondered;

Just how did that "giant" know where he lived?

You have a German pasport, or an English?
Because my mother tongue is hungarian, but I have a Slovakian pasport and we have a renewed language law in Slovakia, in about the using the Slovakian law as a official language in every part of Sk..
If we not do so, we shall have a penalty from 100 to 5000 euro.

You can learn more about it at
