Hi there! #4 (permalink) Fri Oct 28, 2005 8:07 am   Hi there!

hi sunguy

I am glad that you liked it. As for the admission part, i myself dont know much right now. Anywyas, I am giving my GRE on the 11th of the next month. Soonafter I shall be aplying for the universities. I shall then telll you how I proceeded. But if you arent aware, let me tell you that you can apply to 5 universities of your choice soonafter you take the test, for free. (I mean the fee is included in the exam fee itself  ) So do some research on what courses you want and which colleges will be best suited. I shall tell you later about my admission details. ok

Good Luck!

hi ud

i am glad that you liked my work.

as far as vocabs are concerned, they are like pills. If you dont work on it daily, it is of no use. So, the best way to prepare for vocabs is practice, practice and just practice. and hey....try to take as many antonym questions as possible (they are more effective than the synonyms).

this link might help u with this
http://www.vyomworld.com/gre/antonym.asp?start=0

Dont worry about the score as the best way to get high scores is to be through with vocabs....so that reduces your job a lot!! (almost 3 entire sections is based soley on vocabs). I am telling this from my personal experience.......i used to score 400-430s initially but as i gradualy picked up vocabs, my scores began to drastically improve. Now i am easily getting 550+ (inspite of poor performance in RCs).

So, just focus on vocabs (especially during the last days) and the scores will automatically get higher :D

All the very best !!

Two more words #10 (permalink) Thu May 11, 2006 4:15 am   Two more words

Despite 3 months of solid vocabulary studying, I had two antonym questions with key words I've never seen before :x :x
Pinion and Furrow. I felt I got robbed though getting them right would have probably increased my score by 20 points. What the @83i! Good luck.

Hi
This is wonderful !!
You know what !! I wrote a blog ( in minglebox.com) on the day I posted this comment.
Having given my GRE on December 12, 2007, I had this inkling to tell others and help them in building vocabulary by using the method that I had learnt to appreciate.
After posting my blog, I was just trying to verify if my blog would come up in Google search.
Then, I came across your blog. What a coincidence !!
I felt really good to know that someone else had the same epiphany like me.
But I feel bad that I didn't see your blog while preparing for my GRE. Had I come across this then, I would have done much better in the Verbal section.

Hey guys, i'm returning to this forum after so many years and thats mainly because of you gre aspirants' thankyou messages. I've been getting thankyou mails till date for this post. I literally have no idea this would help so many people (more than I thought). I am very happy about that.

I have been getting requests to blog about my gre preparation from a lot of people. So I have just started to blog a few things I did for my test. You might be interested in checking it out sometime, in case you feel lost with your test preparation. I am planning to share all my resources there. So keep visiting it to get the updates.
