Hello everyone. What OS are you currently using and are you thinking of switching or upgrading to Windows 7? Or do you think Ubuntu is the better alternative?

For today I use Windows XP. I think that Windows Vista is the worst platform ever. What I've heard is that Windows 7 is far better than Vista, so I'll probably try this OS.And it has similar system requirements to Vista.

Torsten, I've never used any of Linux platforms (e.g. Ubuntu), but what many people say- there is a huge gap between Windows' and Linuxes security level and Linux wins in this competition. Many people who started using Linux platforms never come back to Windows again. So, in simple words, system security is better (you don't need to have any antyvirus installed), the system is stable, and what's the most important thing for me, Linux is totally free !! Anyone can download it, copy and you don't have to pay for shitty legal Vista.

I think in 2010 Google will start conquering the operating system market with Google Chrome OS as they did with free web based email and other products.

Google's OS? Sounds interesting. I have heard nothing about it. I think that can invent something competitive. Maybe some day Google will own the whole Internet :D
