Schools should ask students to evaluate their teachers. Do you agree or disagree?

The issue at hand is whether the school teachers should be evaluated by students or not.In my opinion teachers be evaluated because as a source of knowledge provider they play an important role in sharing the knowledge.So if source itself is not good then outcome of students will also not be not good.In the following paragraphs I will explain the reasons for having above opinion.

Firstly;Teachers are the people who provide a role model and motivation to students.If they are not good for match then education will go for a toss.So like for every quarter students get tested teachers should also be tested/evaluated based on their performance.The students who have been taught should do evaluation so that teachers come to know about their weak points and the things that students don't like about him/her.This will really benefit both teachers and students.From students point of view he/she will get a chance to express his/her feelings about the quality of teaching.From teachers point of view they will come to know about short comings in their way of teaching and hence will get some room for improvement.

Secondly;Education system should be two way system.That is both teachers and students should bridge the gap between them by providing feedback on each others performance.If it is always one way then the students are the one who are going to bore the brunt.In addition to above this evaluation system also helps school administration to select appropriate people for the job.For example while hiring teachers schools may put evaluation system as one of the criteria for making the job permanent.Further this can also be considered as a criteria for pay hikes

Finally I think this evaluation system has to be made mandatory in all schools.This will definitely have some impact on teachers.For example teachers who get less rating may be motivated to excel in their jobs.Overall there are more pros in having teachers evaluation system than cons.Government should step forward and introduce this system as early as possible.
