Hi Guys I believe that there are both the same. I'll do TOEFL test on December and I have in mind to take IELTS test after that. I believe that nobody can judge before taking both tests. I don't know about Cambridge test?? Embee you meant 120, of course.yes? I hope you both will pass it with the score you need.

| I have taken both the tests and TOEFL is slightly difficult than IELTS. But its easily manageable and nothing to worry about it. |

I suppose that It was easy for you because you were familiar with British accent...however in my opinion, understanding a British-English speaker while he/she is speaking fast is tough and I know definitely it's because I haven't worked on it so much. as far as I know in the other skills(reading, speaking, writing)there is no significant and major differences. and what about Cambridge test? _________________ Global Marketing |

pretty good! British English accent is more challenging for me to understand right now and I might only have a smattering of it, especially in long lectures, nonetheless I'll be familiar with it too. Good luck. _________________ Global Marketing |

Thank you. I suppose that Indian people are more familiar with British accent and less with American one. Am I right? _________________ Global Marketing |

Could you tell me how many people in your country communicate with English. I don't mean the exact...and I don't want you to estimate...Just asking curiously...because I have heard the overwhelming majority of people can speak English. I suppose that it's true, as you said "Britishers ruled India for 250 years" it's reasonable to assume. _________________ Global Marketing |

| Hi dear, no I'm Russian here in Ireland for all must 6 years. I'm familiar more with British accent. The differences between Cambridge and TOFEL exams are; cambridge has 65 min in each writing tasks, first task is letter or email and you don't need to listen to lectures and then write down everything you've heard, it's lot more facilitate your writing task. The second is integration essay. Reading as well much easier. Listening mmmm a bit challenging part because you'll hear all conversation in auditory. Speaking part is easy part, usually they're taking 2-3 people and then they are starting up conversation, I have to say it's much easier to talk in a group of people than to just sit down and be talking in microphone. |
