how many I need to get correct in both GRE® sections?

Hi,
I want a really high GRE score. Is there any criteria about the number of GRE questions that I need to get correct for a GRE score around 1470? Please tell me how many I need to get correct in both GRE sections?

Hello,
Its not easy to answer that question and give you the precise number of GRE questions that you should get correct. However, if your performance in GRE verbal is in the top 1 percent and in GRE quant is in the top 21 percent, then you have a very good chance of getting a GRE score above 1470.

This is just a guideline and not an actual formula for getting more than 1470 in your GRE exam. Also, this is based on an earlier reported GRE score pattern – this could be out of date currently. I guess the only take away is that you must do very well on GRE verbal and do fairly well in GRE quant to get a 1470 or a higher GRE score.
