Topic: Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Face-to-face communication is better than other types of communication, such as letters, email, or telephone calls. Use specific reasons and details to support your answer.

In this modern society, young people prefer making friends through modern types of communication, such as internet, letter, email or telephone calls. Few of them even fell uncomfortable to make friend through face-to-face communication. I think that they need change their habit and realize that face-to-face communication is better because of the three bellowing reasons.

For the first reason, you can realize easily whether the friend is sincere through his manners in face-to-face communication. For example, a friend whose eyes do not usually look directly into us when talking together may not be a good friend. He may have a bad intention to us and be afraid that we will perceive this through his eyes. We can also observe carefully his actions and his words to determine which person he is. Of course, through letter, email or telephone calls, he can prepare, correct and decorate his words so that we cannot observe him and may be easily cheated through these words.

Secondly, in face-to-face communication, a friend is more useful. He can use his action to help us when we have difficulties. Getting my neighborhood for example, when I need to move heavy furniture such as a television, flowerpots and a chest, I can ask him for help. It is so boring to go to supermarket or shopping alone. So, I always go with my neighborhood. These are useful things that friends through letters, email or yahoo almost not be able to bring to me.

Finally, contacting indirectly with friends to much is a cause that makes us afraid of contacting directly in real activities. Today, young people have more difficulties in communicating. They always feel shy and passive in a crowd. This is because they are too dependent to relationship they have on their computers. A study stated that the much time a person spends with his visual friends on internet, the more passive they become in real relationship. So, we must confine our times on other types of communication.

In summary, face-to-face communication is better than other types of communication such as letters, email, or telephone calls since a friend in face-to-face communication seems more sincere, more useful. More importantly, contacting usually in face-to-face communication makes us more active in real activities.
