Hi,

I was watching a quiz programme on TV the other day and one of the questions was: What does hysteron proteron mean? Well I hadn't a clue so I ran anxiously to my host of dictionaries. The smaller ones hadn't a clue either. And then the largest one came out with the answer. Do you know what it means?

Just shows, you live and learn.

Good morning Claudia,

Well, the cat's out of the bag then! And I'd better tell everyone else. It means saying a well known expression in reverse order. So you have; It's down there in white and black. She's at everyone's call and beck. They raced down the road skelter helter. The corks were bobbing down and up in the water.

What a wonderful life it is!
