Hi Sonia,
That's a very difficult question to answer because 'quality' can be of any level or standard. You can talk of 'poor quality' or 'high quality', Without knowing how you speak or what your friend meant, I can't really comment. If your pronunciation is fine and people can understand what you are saying, I don't see there is really a problem. I can't really follow why watching English films is necessarily a help because you can hear a variety of standards in them.

Sonia, I would think that your friend is becoming something of a snob. Not much of a friend with a "put-down" like that.
Kitos.
I think your writing echoes your speaking, and you write just fine. _________________ Keep it simple ... Keep it interesting. |

Hello Sonia,
if I were you, I would ask her what she meant by "you are lacking in the quality of the speaking although your pronunciation is fine." If she is any kind of a friend, she will gladly explain it to you and help you improve in what she thinks you're still lacking. I'm sure she wasn't trying to be mean.

| Great point there Kitosdad. I absolutely agree with you. A lot of people tend to look down on others when they think they're better than them. Especially when it comes to speaking english. In my opinion, as long as people understand your english, you're fine. Watching english movies and listening to english radio stations will help with the pronunciation. |
