As far as I know these verbs are used with the words :test and exam

pass/study/write/fail/take/sit an exam
take/do/sit a test

In addition, if I'm not mistaken, the verb sit used in British English means to take an examination.

what are the other verbs we can use with these two words?
can we use "give" with the word "exam"?

Is this one correct? :
she gave her exam today

As far as I know, there is a difference between AmE and BrE in this case, too.

I forgot to tell you yesterday when I was posting on the other forum, but 'sitting an exam' is, I believe, a British thing to do. To the best of my knowledge, in American English people sit for it, not just sit it. Then again, they usually don't sit for it either - they just take it or have it.

Hi Richard,

Don't get too worried about this AmE BrE thing - you can say sit/sit for/take/have an exam without any problems!
