The tallest trees in all of the wood.
You oaks in whose glorious pasts.
Had graced sea vessels with their masts.

But then you stood in peace it seemed,
We drowsed beneath you with our dreams.
Our dreams of days spent in the past,
The days that always seemed to last.

But now you've gone, will be no more,
Because they've felled you to the floor.
You, who stood the test of time,
No longer needed, what a crime.

One day they'll regret, this action bold,
For you were worth, your weight in gold.
But they won't stop, not for a tree,
Just how stupid can they be?
