Oh, he was so afraid. What was this thing around his neck?

How he wished that he had listened to his parent's warning; "Never leave the burrow when we are not here".

He hadn't intended to actually leave the burrow, he simply wanted to have a look outside the entrance, and now look what had happened.
His parents were sure to scold him when they returned.

He fervently prayed that his father would be able to get him loose from this thing, because no matter how he moved in an attempt to free himself, the thing just became tighter.
He gave a little squeal of anguish.

Big mistake! He felt the heavy footfalls of a human approaching.
Now he was really frightened.

He felt a huge warm hand lift him from the grass, and sure gentle fingers released the thing from around his neck.
He was placed gently back onto the grass and he scampered back down the burrow as quickly as his tiny legs could carry him.

The human chuckled to himself and pulled the snare out of the ground.
Burying it deep inside a nearby container, he wended his way slowly back to his home.

Kitos. Good morning to you all.

Good day to you Glorning.
I was in the kitchen at ten minutes past four this morning, so having had six hours sleep I was more than happy to stay out of bed.

This little story was really an afterthought from the other "Rabbit" story that I wrote last week.
I have written many such stories that I have never posted. I do it simply for my own amusement.

You really ought to give it a try. It isn't difficult.
A little research adds more interest to the story, otherwise someone will tell you that cuckoo's do build nests and spoil your story.

Give it a try, and thanks for the compliment. I do my best to entertain.

Kitos. :) :)
